In 2012 Cecon Development Corporation was formed to develop a 400 residential lot subdivision located in the East end of the Town of Gander off Cooper Boulevard. This subdivision came to be known as “Eastgate.” Cecon Development Corporation is jointly owned by CECON Ltd., a locally owned consultant engineering firm, and Springdale Forest Resources Ltd., a centrally located construction company.
Since 2012 the company has developed 212 residential lots that consist of single family and semi-detached lots, and a senior retirement complex, which has 73 units on Hughes Street that was developed by CalHan Investments in Gander. There is also a one hundred bed senior home on the corner of Briggs Street and Cooper Boulevard, which was developed by the Oram Group from Glovertown.
A new concept drawing has been approved for the development for an addition of 242 lots that will have two accesses to Cooper Boulevard via Briggs Street and Cessna Street. The development will include single family and semi-detached lots, and a street fronting neighbourhood park along with a new 60 unit retirement park on Waterton Street.
February 2019 is our time frame to develop Briggs Street, which will include 15 lots and also provide easy access from other collector streets. Also in 2019 we will be developing Waterton Street, which is off Briggs Street with 30 semi-detached units to be designed as a 50 plus retirement park by VLE Development, Gander.
In the fall of 2019, CDC will start construction of forty lots on Bannock Street Extension 3 on the south side of Briggs Street, which will consist of single family lots with a green belt and southern exposure.
In 2020 CDC will continue construction of Bannock Street with Extension 4, which will include another 40 lots with both green belts and southern exposure.
